Dance Roads receive highly coveted recognition from European Commission
The EU funded project ‘Dance Roads Open Progress’ led by Chapter and Coreo Cymru between 2013 and 2015 has been awarded ‘success story’ status from the European Commission.
The European Commission defines ‘success stories’ as “finalised projects that have distinguished themselves by their impact, contribution to policy-making, innovative results and/or creative approach and can be a source of inspiration for others”. Of the 33 projects awarded ‘success story’ status from across the EU (out of a pool of 738 funded projects between 2007 and 2013), three were UK led, and two of these three are associated with Chapter.
Carole Blade, Coreo Cymru’s Creative Producer and the DROP Project Co-ordinator comments:
“For DROP to be recognised as a ‘Success Story’ amongst such a large and impressive field is a huge accolade for Chapter and the Dance Roads network partners. It was a delight managing the complex multi-layered dance programme and leading the network, which has since expanded to eight European countries. We are currently awaiting a funding decision from Creative Europe for our next project and this award bodes well for another successful result.”
As a consequence of this selection as ‘success stories’, the EU Commission will give extra visibility and acknowledgement, for instance on their websites and social media, and when preparing documentation for conferences or other events with high-ranking attendance.
